This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters. They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.

International students must be 18 years or older and provide evidence to demonstrate both academic and English language entry requirements as follows:

Academic Requirements
Entry to this qualification is limited to those who:
  • Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions).

or

  • Have two years’ equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.
English Language Requirements
  • Academic IELTS 6.0 overall, no less than 5.5 in each band, or upper intermediate, or EAP from approved ELICOS/ESL centre or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years of age or above

Our course has been designed to meet the requirements for the BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management. It contains 10 units of competency as follows:

  • 5 core units
  • 5 elective units

  • BSBLDR601 Lead and manage organisational change
  • BSBLDR602 Provide leadership across the organisation
  • BSBOPS601 Develop and implement business plans
  • BSBSTR601 Manage innovation and continuous improvement

Elective Units:

  • BSBPEF501 Manage personal and professional development
  • BSBSTR602 Develop organisational strategies
  • BSBSTR801 Lead innovative thinking and practice
  • BSBHRM614 Contribute to strategic workforce planning
  • BSBPMG633 Provide leadership for the program

Students study full time mixed mode of delivery that integrates:

  • Scheduled hours for face to face classes (20 hours per week during term time)
  • Additional self-study to revise and reinforce areas of knowledge, assessment research and assessment preparation and completion

Students are required to complete a range of tasks as part of the assessment requirements for each unit. Assessments methods may include:

  • Projects
  • Case Studies
  • Written knowledge questions/tests
  • Web based research and reports
  • Discussions and observations
  • Presentations

RPL and credit transfer can be applied for at the time of enrolment or during orientation and the original or certified copy must be provided. A fee is payable for assessing your RPL status or processing your credit transfer. Please refer to our price lists in the handbook and website.
