Once you have successfully completed your General English course, you can enter certificate and/or diploma courses offered by Sunbeam. These courses focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

• Be over the age of 18 years.
• Have completed Year 12 or equivalent.
• Demonstrate basic command of written and spoken English of IELTS Level 3 or equivalent CEFR A2 minimum.
• Have basic computer skills, e.g. operating Windows PC, MS Word, Browser, Email application.
• Meet the Subclass 500 Student Visa requirements.
• Complete the English Placement test online sent to your email before your placement is determined.

Your course duration may vary depending on your current level of English language proficiency. The course duration may vary from 10 weeks to 70 weeks.

Sunbeam offers at the following SIX levels for a total duration of 70 weeks:

Each level consists of 10 weeks of study:

• Strater Level (Beginners)
• Elementary (IELTS level 4.0 or equivalent)/10 weeks
• Pre-Intermediate (IELTS 4.5 or equivalent)/10 weeks
• Intermediate (IELTS 5.0 or equivalent/10 weeks
• Upper Intermediate (IELTS 5.5 or equivalent)/10 weeks
• Advanced (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent)/10 weeks

The National standards for ELICOS providers and courses were developed by the Australian Government and state and territory governments in consultation with the ELICOS sector.
